This website is not going to tell you how much hay to feed or what type of hay is best for the horses at your barn. It is not going to give you tips on blanketing and what type of blankets to buy. This website is not about how to take care of horses. After all if you are thinking of opening a boarding barn or have done so already then there is a good chance you know how to take care of horses.
This website is all about discussing the difficult and very real issues that plague every barn (If allowed) and how to take control of them. These difficult issues that every barn owner will face can tear apart your barn and business quickly and it has happened to many boarding barns throughout the country and world. People are people no matter where you live and we all still deal with the same issues. It is about the decisions you will make for your barn and how it will affect your boarders and you as the barn owner. This website is about so much more.
David and I had built a huge twenty-five thousand sq. ft. barn with riding arena and overnight I was a business woman with zero business skills. I didn't really know what I was doing when it came to running our barn on such a large scale and I had no experience in dealing with boarders and all the demands I was quickly receiving. My life became absolutely crazy and I had no one to help me through it.
I am so glad those days are behind me and now I am honored to help so many people all over the country work through the issues they are having.
What Pro Barn Management is really about
The reason this website is so unique is because it is all about the real issues that all barn owners and barn managers will go through. It is about dealing with the tough issues that occur between the barn owner and client when it comes to their horses. Taking care of other peoples horses is a very demanding job because the expectations will be different for so many of your clients. They will each have a different idea of what great horse care is and you can't be everything to everyone.
This website is about problem solving and learning to become a leader in your barn and making decisions that are best for your business and the horses in your care. It is about sticking to your decisions even if they are not popular with some of your clients. It is about gaining confidence in how you run your barn. If you are new to my website then I encourage you to check out my blog articles and see for yourself. I get asked many questions that you can't find in any books (except mine) about real problems that happen in every barn and business. This is your website where you can ask questions and I will answer them for you and help you look at all sides of the issues and how they affect you and your boarders. This website was created to inspire, encourage and educate. This website was designed with you in mind.
I would love to work with you
If you are having an equine event, I would love to be part of it. I give seminars where we discuss barn management in a very intimate way to help others problem solve. I would be happy to work with you on an individual basis and even come to your barn if you need to streamline your chore-time and business. Having a fresh pair of eyes to look at a problem is always smart because sometimes when we are in the middle of the storm we can't see what is really going on. I would be happy to help you work through everything from designing your barn to problem solving an already established business.
Too many people burn out because they become overwhelmed with the business and it doesn't need to be that way. Too many barns close because the owners have gotten themselves in financial distress and it didn't have to happen. I would love to mentor and work with you and help you make your business all that it can be.
This website was created with you, the equine professional in mind. Are you ready to make the changes at your barn that need to be made? Don't wait any longer. It's time to enjoy your job as the barn owner and manager again. I would love to go on this journey with you.
I wish you many blessings in your horse business,
